Daily Food Journal started with a simple idea: to make everyday cooking feel less like a chore and more like a joyful, creative act. Today, it's become a collection of everything I love about food – comfort, flavor, family, and memories.

Who I Am

I’m not a professional chef or formally trained culinary expert – I’m Alyssa, a passionate home cook, lifelong recipe collector, food writer, and full-time flavor chaser. My love for cooking started early, in a small kitchen filled with handwritten family recipes, weekend cooking with my mom, and the comforting smell of bread baking in the oven. Over the years, food became my creative outlet, my stress reliever, and my favorite way to connect with people I care about. Whether it was hosting casual dinners, making birthday cakes from scratch, or reviving old family recipes, I realized that cooking brought me a kind of joy I couldn’t ignore.

Before launching Daily Food Journal, I spent years developing recipes for friends and family, scribbling notes in the margins of cookbooks, experimenting with spices late into the night, and documenting meals that sparked conversation around the table. I worked a regular day job, but the kitchen was always where I felt most myself – focused, inspired, and happy. One day, I finally decided to create a space to share it all, not just for myself but for anyone who’s ever found comfort in a homemade dish. That’s how Daily Food Journal came to life – a place where I could share real food, real stories, and a whole lot of flavor, one recipe at a time.

Just one woman, one camera, and a deep love of sharing food that matters. Every word, photo, and dish you see is created in my own kitchen, with care and intention.
