Instructions
Ready to make some amazing Air-Fryer Caribbean Wontons? Here’s a detailed, step-by-step guide:
1. Make the Cream Cheese Filling:
In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
Stir in the sweetened shredded coconut, mashed ripe banana, chopped walnuts, and drained crushed pineapple.
Fold in the marshmallow creme until everything is well combined.
2. Fill the Wonton Wrappers:
Position a wonton wrapper with one point toward you. Keep the remaining wrappers covered with a damp paper towel to prevent them from drying out.
Place 2 teaspoons of the cream cheese filling in the center of the wrapper.
Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water.
Fold the opposite corner of the wrapper over the filling, creating a triangle shape.
Press the edges firmly to seal, making sure there are no air pockets.
Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.
3. Air Fry the Wontons: In batches, arrange the filled wontons in a single layer on a greased tray in the air-fryer basket.
Spritz the wontons with cooking spray.
Cook in the preheated air fryer until golden brown and crisp, 10-12 minutes.
4. Make the Strawberry Sauce:
While the wontons are cooking (or before), make the strawberry sauce.
Place the hulled fresh strawberries in a food processor.
Cover and process until pureed.
In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and cornstarch.
Stir in the pureed strawberries.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. If desired, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, reserving the sauce and discarding the seeds.
5. Serve:
Sprinkle the cooked wontons with confectioners’ sugar and ground cinnamon, if desired.
Serve immediately with the warm strawberry sauce. Enjoy your delicious and unique Air-Fryer Caribbean Wontons!
