These Air Fryer Fried Pickles are a game-changer! I’ve always loved the crispy, tangy goodness of fried pickles
For the Pickles:
For the Dip:
Feel free to adapt and adjust as you cook, to your own taste.
Remember to use fresh, high-quality ingredients whenever possible. It will make a noticeable difference in the final flavor.
1. Dry the Pickles:
Lay down a couple of sheets of paper towels. Arrange the sliced pickles on the paper towels in a single layer.
Place more paper towels on top of the pickles. Gently press down to absorb excess moisture. Let them dry for a few minutes.
2. Prepare the Egg Wash:
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Prepare the Breadcrumbs:
In another shallow dish, add the panko breadcrumbs.
4. Bread the Pickles:
Working one at a time, dip a pickle slice in the egg wash, making sure it’s fully coated.
Then, dredge the pickle in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to help them adhere.
Transfer the breaded pickle to a baking sheet (optional) or directly to the air fryer basket if you’re ready to cook.
5. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
6. Air Fry the Pickles:
Add the breaded pickles to the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure there’s some space between each pickle. This allows for even air circulation and crisping.
Lightly spray the pickles with cooking spray.
Air fry for 5-7 minutes. Flip the pickles, spray with more oil, and air fry for another 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
7. Make the Dip:
While the pickles are air frying, combine all the dip ingredients (sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, minced onions, minced garlic, and optional dried dill) in a small bowl.
Stir until well combined.
8. Serve:
Remove the crispy fried pickles from the air fryer. Serve immediately with the dipping sauce. Enjoy!
