  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (160g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Using a spatula, gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop and Bake: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Space them about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but still soft.
  8. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
