Spicy Pickle Margarita

This Spicy Pickle Margarita is a surprisingly delicious and adventurous cocktail! I’ve always been a fan of both margaritas and pickles. And I was intrigued by the idea of combining these two seemingly disparate flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila (silver or reposado)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz pickle juice (from dill pickles)
  • ½ oz orange liqueur (such as triple sec or Cointreau)
  • ½ oz simple syrup (optional, for balance)
  • 12 jalapeño slices (adjust for desired spice level)
  • Ice
  • Pickle slices & jalapeño rings (for garnish)

For the Rim:

  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • Lime wedge

Instructions

1. Prepare the Rim:

On a small plate, mix the kosher salt and chili powder until well combined.

Run a lime wedge around the rim of your chosen glass.

Dip the rim of the glass into the salt mixture, coating it evenly.

2. Muddle the Heat:

In a cocktail shaker, add the jalapeño slices.

Lightly muddle them to release their spice. Don’t over-muddle, as this can make the drink too spicy.

3. Mix the Margarita:

Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, pickle juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice.

Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled.

4. Strain & Serve:

Strain the mixture into the prepared, salt-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice.

5. Garnish & Enjoy:

Garnish with a pickle slice and a jalapeño ring.

Sip and enjoy your unique and flavorful Spicy Pickle Margarita!
